THE LIGHT OF DAMNATION RECORDS: Album Update #1- 17/02/09
Australian unhinged metallers Kunvuk have set “Immute: What Follows The Feeding of Jackals” as the title of their forthcoming debut LP. The album is currently slated for release in July of 2009 and is set to be released as a two-disc digipack edition. The first disc will contain 10 new compositions rallying from the brink of insanity to the pinnacle of clarity. Coupled with this will be a second disc which will be a reconstructed, rerecorded, remixed and remastered version of the band's demo EP “The Gone Mekanik Anticipation Demonstration”. The album will be self-funded and self-released via the band’s own label, The Light of Damnation Records.
For anyone eager to hear the new material before the disc drops, come down to Club Blink in Sydney, Australia on March 6th and catch Kunvuk live at one of their last live shows before they disappear into the wilderness to record their new album. They will be video-taping this show for future release so anyone wanting to get in and on the video, the guest list is filling fast so leap to it and send your names to contact@kunvuk.com

R.I.P Ron Asheton - 07/01/09
What a fucked way to start the fucking year! One of the most influential guitarists of all time, Ron Asheton, has died at the age of 60. For the ignorant, he was the original guitarist for The Stooges and anyone who enjoys modern rock, metal, punk and all its hybrids needs to take a moment of reflection and pay tribute to this great man. Damn the sun and all it's children, he will be missed.

Demo EP reviews and interviews in other tongues - 04/09/08
Reviews of our demo EP "The Gone Mekanik Anticipation Demonstration" have started to trickle in and damn it, so has this persistent tick that scratches and infects the frontal lobes. We also recently conducted an interview with Sacred Sound Magazine from Brazil so quickly back pedal over to the press page to here our patchwork philosophy on distilled forms we call reality.

A new drummer and a violent agenda - 24/07/08
Kunvuk welcomes in to its ranks the explosive and insanely dynamic (Hurrikane Ka)Trina Tuffy! After an extensive and thoroughly debilitating search of the Sydney landscape we have found the missing piece to this band in this dangerous girl and are now stomping and screaming in gleeful anticipation. Finally, the flicker tubes of darkened minds are glowing.

We have also uploaded a selection of photos from the Marble Bar gig we had at the Hilton Hotel a few weeks back so come and laugh at the absurdity of us playing to a place of slight prestige. They can be viewed here.

We need a drummer! - 18/06/08
It is with great sadness that we announce the departure of Felipe Cordoba from Kunvuk. He was unable to continue in the band due to his family commitments and his desire to follow a career in film. We wish him all the best for the future.
So now we need a new drummer! We need someone who lives in the Sydney area, has their own equipment, their own transport and a burning desire to play drums for a career. All applicants can contact us via our website on: contact@kunvuk.com . Alternatively get in contact with us through our myspace page. We will be holding rehearsals in the next few weeks and relish in the challenge of bringing you a larger, uglier and more insane version of Kunvuk in the coming months. Stay focused.

Website Launch - 30/05/08
Welcome to the official Kunvuk website. Seeing as you are here now, I am sure you have cleverly discerned that the website has been launched and is now open for interaction. This will be the official source for all things Kunvuk-related - if it is not here it does not or ever did exist.
You would be well-warned to bookmark our page and return regularly. We will update the website frequently and provide new and exclusive content for you to view and download.
If you are in the terrifying grips of senility and you frequently forget about Kunvuk for long periods of time we recommend you sign up for our newsletter. This can be done in the top left-hand corner of each page.
ON ANOTHER NOTE: This website is in its foetal stages so be patient while we slowly build this world into a plethora of births and confusions.

KUNVUK: 19th May, 7pm Marble Bar: 488 George St, Sydney, Australia
The Sixty One - 23/04/08
KuNvuK has extended it's dirty legs and jagged claws to infect yet another website: The Sixty One
This is a new music sharing website that works by getting listeners to "bump" songs they like. The more times a song is "bumped" the further it moves up the charts - or something to that effect. Apparently it is radically different to all the other music sharing sites out there but it seems strangely familiar.
Anyway, if you feel distraught and angry over the cards life has handed you come over and bump our music. It won't make you feel better but it'll burn a few more seconds from your mind.
The payoff will come down the road, in the form of a much larger, angrier and crazier KuNvuK that will spew album releases every six months and tour 425 days in the year.

These photos give our fans the first chance to see our new bass player, Luis, in action on stage. This was his first gig with us after only being in the band for two weeks.
Check them out on our main page in slideshow form: KuNvuK MySPacE
In other news, we are releasing a video soon for public and private consumption that will contain some threateningly exciting footage. You should see that come to light in the next two weeks. Interested? You better be...

Announcing our new bass player - 04/04/08
We have found the perfect fourth limb for KuNvuK - LUIS BARRA! It was a long search and thank you to everyone who took the time to try out. It’s hard to turn down so many great players, but Luis destroys on the bass and destruction in the bass frequency department is what we oh so sorely needed.
I’m sure all you Vukkers out there will welcome him with much mirth and chortle, so be swift - we have much to say...
Needless to say, all further bass submissions will be thrown in the bin with great glee. Kunvuk is at last complete.

We have successfully produced and released our own Demo EP via our record label The Light of Damnation Records
It is benevolently disguised as "THE GONE MEKANIK ANTICIPATION DEMONSTRATION" and we are making this available for free to people who come to our shows and for people who purchase merchandise from our website.
This release is intended to tide over the fans of KuNvuK until our full-length release later in 2008.
IMPORTANT: You have our permission to make as many copies of this as virally possible, distribute it far and near, high and low.

Bass Player Needed - 17/01/08
Kunvuk needs a BASS player! We are planning on getting this monster into venues and we need a bass player to help us get there and make an impression.
Needed qualities:
- A good rig
- Own transport
- Hardworking
- Dedicated
- Sense of humour
- Lives in the Sydney region
We are not looking for the greatest bass player in the country. If you are dedicated to learning the songs and performing them to the best of your abilities then you will suit the bill.
If you listen to our music and are interested, then get in contact and we'll arrange a time to meet.
I look forward to the frenzy.

Losing a limb and gaining a frequency cluster - 07/11/07
We are pleased to announce that not only have we lost a limb (see Urge 1), but we have gained a record label (see Urge 2) and announced a song for the world to hate (see Urge 3).
Urge 1. We no longer have a bass player and are continuing to surge manically outwards without one. Kunvuk is now a three-limbed creature that is starting to shake it's deformed body in anticipation.
Urge 2. We are now signed to a record label. Our own! We have established our own record label (The Light of Damnation Records) with sheer determination and grim giddiness. This company will be a becon for all those who have been led astray by impure music. Pray for support. Our legs will carry this weighty music. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/thelightofdamnation.
Urge 3. A song for your digital consumption! We have unveiled the composition "Gone" on our myspace site. Please rate it and hate it. All inflammatory comments welcome. Lyrics for this song will be posted soon for all those too lazy to listen and senile to remember.

Mending and ultimately, bending - 23/07/07
Kunvuk has now another two limbs and will statically reside with the four members. We have extended and welcome the addition of our low frequency agressor Erin and rePercussive attenuator Phil. They will be crucial to the invocation of dynamic field disruption. Within the next few weeks you will witness the first conduction to infect these digital pages and the spurious atonal rage will only ascend in frequency and strength. Please defer. Stay focused. Your time is precious and we will not leave you.
